Spotlight on Swansea: Our First Vegan Fair of 2026

As the new year begins, we’re heading back to one of our favourite Welsh cities to kick off Veganuary 2026 in style. On Sunday 18th January 2026, Vegan Fairs returns to The Patti Swansea for our third consecutive year.

This event is extra special for us, as it also marks 8 years of organising vegan fairs and markets across the UK. What better way to celebrate than returning to Swansea for our first fair of 2026?

Whether you’ve been vegan for a while or are just curious and exploring Veganuary 2026, you’ll feel right at home at our Swansea Vegan Fair.

Make a Day of It: Things to Do in Swansea

One of the best things about attending a Vegan Fair in Swansea is how much there is to explore nearby. Whether you’re visiting for the day or turning it into a weekend trip, Swansea offers a brilliant mix of culture, nature and coastline. Here are some of our favourite things to do before or after our market.

Explore the Coast

The Patti is just a short stroll from the seafront, making it easy to combine the fair with a refreshing walk along the beach. Head towards Mumbles Pier for classic seaside views, or stroll along the promenade and take in the winter sea air.

You could even grab a bite to eat from one of our traders and head for a picnic on the beach, but don’t forget to wrap up warm!

Visit Local Gardens and Green Spaces

Brynmill Park, Singleton Park and the Swansea Botanical Gardens are all within easy walking distance of the venue, making them ideal for a relaxed stroll after the fair. These green spaces offer a peaceful escape and a chance to enjoy some fresh air by the coast.

If you have a little more time, Clyne Gardens is well worth the short trip. Set within a historic parkland, this beautiful botanical garden is perfect for a longer, more leisurely wander and a great way to round off your day in Swansea.

Dylan Thomas Birthplace

Step inside the childhood home of one of Wales’ most celebrated poets. Located in the Uplands area of Swansea, the Dylan Thomas Birthplace offers a fascinating insight into the early life and influences of the writer, with restored rooms and informative displays that bring his story to life.

National Waterfront Museum

Located in the heart of the city, the National Waterfront Museum explores Welsh industry, innovation and everyday life through interactive exhibitions and storytelling. It’s a great stop if you’re interested in how Wales has evolved – and it’s free to enter, making it an easy addition to your day.

Glynn Vivian Art Gallery

The Glynn Vivian Art Gallery is one of Swansea’s cultural highlights, showcasing a mix of historic and contemporary art. With regularly changing exhibitions alongside a permanent collection, it’s a calm and creative space to dip into after a busy day at the fair.

Oystermouth Castle

Located in Mumbles, around 10 minutes from the venue, Oystermouth Castle is well worth the short trip if you’re exploring the coast. Perched above the village, the castle offers sweeping views across Swansea Bay and a fascinating glimpse into the area’s medieval history. Unfortunately, the castle is closed in winter, but you can still enjoy the views.

Why Swansea Is the Perfect Veganuary City

Swansea’s creative spirit, coastal setting and growing interest in ethical living make it a fantastic home for our Veganuary 2026 event. The city attracts a diverse crowd (locals, students, families and visitors) all open to trying new things and supporting local, independent businesses.

Our Veganuary market in Swansea is about more than shopping. It’s about community, conversation and showing just how accessible and enjoyable plant-based living can be. Everyone is welcome at our events – see you there?
